Lohff & Pfeiffer comments to the model The Buffet Crampon Tosca Eb is the topline professional clarinet in the R 13 family and fits beautifully in the line of the other Tosca A, Bb, and Bass models. It is the most popular Eb of our professional customers
The Tosca bore design improves the focus in general and the stability in the high register in particular. The scale is very even. Consequently, the instrument has a higher resistance, which can nicely be compensated with the use of a more open mouthpiece. The sound of the Tosca is always dark, well carried, controlled and very elegant.
For players who wish an even sharper low F or E, we can add an additional low E & F resonance mechanism. See Low E-F correction.
Ergonomically the register-, A-, G#, and side keys have been redesigned, which is preferred by many.
It is the only Buffet Eb model that comes with the left hand Eb/Ab lever.
The Tosca is available in unstained, polished African blackwood or in Greenline, a wise choice if you are worried about cracks. To reduce the risk of cracking, Lohff & Pfeiffer offer the tone hole crack prevention for all wooden instruments as an alternative option

Like all small-bore instruments, it does have some resistance and allows the use of more open mouthpieces.
